The venue audit
Set a client's reviews against the top-quarter pattern: do couples name a person, mention the viewing, praise replies?
Evidence pack for wedding venue consultants
We read 52,662 public reviews of 2,090 wedding venues from five UK regions and compared the venues couples rate highest with those they rate lowest. The difference is in the people and the process.

The headline figures
The median venue holds a 4.6 Google rating. The top quarter sit at 4.8 or above, the bottom quarter at 4.3 or below. What couples write either side of that line is very different.
In couples' own words
Quotes are cut around the phrase and names removed, so you can see what couples actually write at either end of the market.
"Staff were so professional, especially our wedding planner [name]."
"From the first viewing visit we were made to feel so welcome and at ease."
"Horrible experience, poor communication from them about major changes to the hall."
"It was a horrible hall, car park only held about 15 cars so you had to double park."

The finding
Couples at the highest-rated venues write more about who looked after them and how. The pack shows what the lowest-rated venues are held against, and how wide the gap runs from one region to the next.

Questions
Public Google reviews of 2,090 wedding venues from five UK regions, posted between 1 January and 18 October 2026. Scotland, Wales, the North West and the Midlands are not covered yet.
We count the share of written reviews that use the words for each theme, such as coordinator or planner, viewing or showround, deposit or refund. Read each figure as a strong signal rather than an exact measure.
Hotel reviews are mostly about overnight stays, not weddings, and would swamp the comparison. The headline figures use dedicated venues only.
